Shows: Amazin' Racin'

On to The Amazing Race and what appears to be the longest leg ever. It's apparent now that the "background theory" is invalid, since Lynn and Alex came up short in this leg, meaning the sunset background is no longer "untouchable". Guess it's back to the drawing board for spoilers everywhere.

Meanwhile, it was very impressive to see Meredith and Gretchen overcome the boys and make it to the finish line before they did. Those two are pretty incredible. Though I can't say that I think they'll go much farther. The other three teams seem to be much more competent and competitive than Lynn and Alex. Still, that could all be editing - all of the teams are to some degree at the mercy of their drivers, so it could happen to anyone.

I do suspect if they make it to the final three, they won't win, as I don't think they'd be able to out-sprint any of the other teams, and the final leg often appears to be very fast-paced. Their slow-and-plodding methodology is great, but in that final leg, I don't know that it will help. I see that one more likely to go to one of the other teams.

And how about Uchenna and Joyce? Hats off to Joyce for shaving her head. That was awesome. I feel bad that she was upset about it, but it turned out well - she indeed looks beautiful with her head shaved, and she has a wonderful supporter in Uchenna, who made sure she knew it. Bravo. It's just too bad they didn't win anything for finishing the leg in first place.

What's up with that, and why do Rob and Amber always seem to win a trip when they finish first? Was that a part of their deal for participating?
