Last night was easily won by Bo Bice, and especially his rendition of Badlands’ In a Dream, performed without musical accompaniment. This was, quite possibly, his best performance of the year – and he didn’t even have any music to go with it. I think this just sealed his win, even though there is another vote next week.
Meanwhile, Carrie and Vonzell duked it out for second place. Carrie had some moments, and I thought she did well with the Air Supply song. Vonzell also had her moments, and did very well with the Donna Summer song. Neither of them did all the well the rest of the night, with Carrie even botching the Shania Twain staple, Man, I Feel Like a Woman!
It’s a bit of a toss-up tonight. I suspect that Vonzell will go home, as Carrie does have a superior voice. But Carrie lacks the personality that Vonzell has, so it’s always possible that the voters from last night simply will like her better. Regardless, if Bo goes home, this thing is fixed.
