Shows: Lost Leftovers

The second episode of the second season of Lost was on last night. Was I the only one who felt like we watched the same episode as the week prior, with a few extra scenes thrown in so perhaps we wouldn't notice? Maybe I'm just old-fashioned, but I thought that first-run episodes (as opposed to reruns) were supposed to contain new material.

The whole series of bunker scenes brought absolutely nothing new to the equation, other than John talking for a few minutes to the guy (which we have now seen, instead of having to assume), Kate was stuffed in a closet and almost shot (which really doesn't add all that much) and the inhabitants of the raft are back on the island (which is really no surprise). And for this, I wasted another hour of my life?

I've talked before about how I think J.J. Abrams spins a decent yarn but doesn't know how to bring it all together. In fact I don't even know if he is still involved in the show, but I'm hoping that even if the story-telling doesn't improve that we at least get a little more new material before actual reruns hit again. I'd hate to see another promising tale go down-the-drain.
