Ghost Whisperer Recap: Miss Fortune

This episode started off with a really promising turn by taking us to the carnival. Not a redneck carnival that you might find in my part of the world, but a real old-time freak show and fortune telling carnival, just ripe for interaction with ghosts. There were even plenty of ghosts in the place to help out. Unfortunately, the show left out their details.

Sure, this made the episode fit into its time slot, but it also left a whole lot of promising tales to tell, and the way that carnivals travel, well, they just aren't very likely to come back around anytime soon, are they?

In any case, for once, I have to say that I didn't find Melinda's eyelashes distracting. Instead, I think that I was busy wondering why in the world they would hold such a largely attended attraction in a park with such amazing grass. That just seems like they are asking for trouble. I would have put it in the parking lot, and left the luxurious grass for lounging. But this is television, after all.

And the tale came together nicely at the end, as it always does, with the usual dangling promise of darkness, the reality of happy endings wins out. Maybe if it were on later it would do more dabbling in the really interesting (dark) stories. It seems as if they leave a lot on the table.
