The Sopranos Recap: Join the Club

I’m just not sure what to think about this episode. On one hand, I like the idea of Tony wandering around as a traveling salesman (or whatever he is supposed to be). I actually think that would have been a cool ending – to see Tony get shot – by Uncle Junior, by AJ, by whoever – and as he is dying, see him wake up, kiss the wife and kids goodbye, go into the office, like the last few years of his life as a mob boss had all been a dream.

Maybe see the car roll by the places he visits, the people he sees – like it was all just the wandering mind of a man in the midst of a normal life. That would actually be pretty cool.

But at the beginning of the last season, rather than at the end? I am just not sure it will work. Plus, with the back-and-forth, I just don’t know what to think. It was a little odd to say the least.

I do think that we may have seen the beginning of something stirring in AJ, so maybe he’ll turn into a decent wiseguy after all. Chris had a little play for affection with sending the stereo. It could prove interesting. I’d just like to see something happen already – enough of this sitting around stuff.
