The Twilight Zone Recap: Showdown with Rance McGrew
Hollywood star Rance McGrew has his own series starring himself - using his real name, no less - as the sheriff of a small town, where he regularly out-toughs the tough guys and sends them packing. This week, however, he's in for a bit of a shock, as the trappings of the show disappear and he finds himself face-to-face with none other than Jesse James!
Jesse proceeds to tell Rance not only how it is, but how it will be, and just before Rance gets it in the end, he makes a promise to Jesse to give him anything at all - then promptly recovers in the midst of a scene back in Hollywood, only to find his "agent" calling. But this isn't his agent - it's Jesse James, with instructions on how the series will turn out from here on in - and the outlaws don't get the short end of the stick any longer!
