Subliminal Phil

A couple weeks ago while watching an episode of The Amazing Race, I mentioned that I had noticed some fancy subliminal work to catch a sign (from Philips, I would think) in the act of spelling out P… H… I… L.

Well, I finally had a chance to transfer the file from the TiVo and take some screen captures.

I was really entertained by this, probably way more than I should have been. You have to wonder how it made its way into the finished product. Did someone do it on purpose (I’m sure someone did)? Did Phil know about it? Inquiring minds want to know!

Okay, it isn’t much. But I thought it was funny, and one day I’ll look back on this and, well, wonder why in the world I not only saved that episode for two weeks, but then why I spent thirty minutes finding the spot that had the frames I needed and then another thirty getting the clips I wanted, and another thirty trimming them down and another little while putting them together into this post. I’ll probably feel pretty stupid. Oh well. I hope you’re happy.

For your enjoyment:

P... H... I

P... H... I...

P... H... I... L!

I’m totally glad you did this. I noticed the PHIL, but Peter didn’t see it. Your efforts allowed him to see it; even after the fact!

Well now I’m totally glad that I did it too. It was definitely worthwhile. :)

Truefen always find a way – this was noticed (and discussed endlessly and with great glee) on Television Without Pity, too.
