Ghost Whisperer Recap: The Vanishing
I wasn't sure how this episode was going to go, with it wanting you to believe that Melinda had lost her power to see ghosts. As it turns out, while she had struck her head, the ghosts merely went away. But not away like into the light away, just somewhere else away. We don't know where just yet. But we did see the return of Chuckles, and also the dark man in the hat who we later learn is called Wide Brim, both developments I find interesting, since it livens things up a bit.
As to the storyline where a young girl loses her young lover from the football team just before the big dance, it was a little too clean for me. Sure, she saw him with another girl, and she thought that he had betrayed her, and it turns out he wanted to tell her before he died that he was learning to dance just for her, she thought he was cheating, blah, blah, blah, but it all turned out in the end. I want to know what else is going on.
My personal theory is that Chuckles relates to Melinda's father, who we haven't seen, or even really heard about - but in this episode, we did hear her (Melinda, I mean) ask her mother why she never talks about him. Seems odd that he would be mentioned all of a sudden, don't you think?
