The Twilight Zone Recap: The Fugitive
A group of children plays alien with an older man, who has the ability to shape-shift. In this case, however, it turns out that he really is an alien, and a couple of policemen have come looking for him. As it turns out, the old manis being hunted because he really is a fugitive from another planet. Talk about someone who is good at what they do - this guy is a ringer for this game!
In an interesting turn of events, the old man and his best friend (the young girl) devise a plan whereby she can return to the planet with him. Even though he is a fugitive, it turns out that he is also the king of this world, and the policemen want him to return. So the only way that he can get back is by spending a few minutes alone with his friend so he can say goodbye.
When he does, he uses his shape-shifting powers to change into the young girl, so that those who are sent to bring him back can't tell the difference between him and the girl and they have to take both of them back to the other world. An interesting turn of events, to say the least. I wonder what her family will think. There is no way this episode would get made today. A little girl running off with an old man? It would never happen.
