Mythbusters Recap: Cooling a Six-Pack

Cooling a Six-Pack. The first myth on this episode is one of the best ever. What's the best way to cool a six-pack of your favorite beverage? Can gasoline cool down a six-pack? No - Those Vietnam vets were just crazy. Should you put it in the refrigerator? No - That takes 40 minutes or more. Should you put it in a cooler with ice? No - 15 minutes. Maybe in a cooler with ice, water and salt? No, but you're getting close - Just 5 minutes. For the fastest cooling speed, try a CO2 fire extinguisher - Only 3 minutes to icy cold freshness. But be careful where you point that thing!

Ancient Electricity. While Adam and Jamie were busy cooling the beer, the build team was testing ancient batteries, and sure enough they were able to store minute amounts of charges in the containers, and they were even able to come up with potential uses for the tiny charges: Electroplating (adding one metal to another), therapy (such as sending a charge through acupuncture) or the presence of gods (a small current through an idol).

Of course, the best moment came when the build team hooked up the electric fence transformer to their Arc of the Covenant and got Adam to grab on for the shock of his life. He didn't look happy.

Buster 2.0. Much of this episode was taken up with the Rebuilding of Buster. Buster had seen better days, so they cast a new skeleton from a better alloy, and built a new body from two-part pieces that they could easily repair and replace if needed. Then they dropped him from a sixty-foot crane in a Cadillac, because they promised Cadillac Ben that they would destroy the car that he had donated in the Scuba Diver, Car Capers episode.
