We have finally seen the first non-elimination leg of the race, and it came none too soon. Without it, the hippy team of BJ and Tyler would have been goners for sure. I don’t know why, but BJ had a very difficult time getting through the piles of sand in the desert (though it seemed that he was scraping the top off of the piles). Luckily, however, they are still in the race. At least for one more leg. We’ll see how they do.
Meanwhile, the other formerly high-flying team of Eric and Jeremy also had a tough leg, finishing as the next-to-last team because of what seemed to be some difficulty following their map to the pit stop. And in perhaps the largest surprise in a leg full of surprises, the oldest team left in this race, Fran and Barry. Perhaps we’re seeing a significant shift in the dynamics of the race. I, for one, can’t wait for next week’s show!
