None other than William Shatner stars in this episode, about a young couple, who may or may not be married and on their honeymoon, stranded in a small Ohio town when their car breaks down. They stop in a small cafe for lunch and find a fortune telling device on their table.
At a cost of just a penny you can have any (yes or no) question answered. It is of course your choice if you want to accept the answer. The couple first asks about a promotion, and finds out that he did indeed receive it, so they ask further questions, about their car and their stay in the town, and in so doing they narrowly avoid an accident with a car, but they also nearly become trapped in a cycle of questions that leaves them trapped with the machine.
Another couple is not so lucky, and as the first couple leaves to get their car and resume the trek to New York, we see their tired faces as they sit back down at the table and ask “Will we ever leave this town?”. Nice.
