Amazing Stories Recap: What If?

Young Jonah (just 5) can't figure out why his parents don't want him. He does everything that he can to please them, including putting up his toys (most times) and drawing them pictures to hang on the refrigerator. But they just want to go out at night and have friends over for parties. They don't even notice when he goes to school or comes home.

So it's with a bit of strangeness that a school crossing guard befriends Jonah, and Jonah's things start to disappear, and his life starts to fade from his family. Finally the crossing guard asks if Jonah is ready to cross over, and it turns out that the crossing guard is a doctor, who is delivering Jonah - now renamed Robbie at his own request - to a family who is ready for a little boy, and the earlier family will simply have memories of something that used to be there. Rather bizarre.

Watch for an appearance by Dennis Haskins (who would later go on to play Mr. Belding in Saved by the Bell) as the man in the station wagon, who likes to say damn.
