My Name is Earl Recap: Y2K

Just prior to the year 2000, Earl and Joy met new town “resident” Darnell, who told them all about Y2K, and being the opportunists that they were, they made all sorts of plans to go looting. But since they were typically passed out by about 9pm, they didn’t know about the town fireworks, and thought it was machine guns and grenades, so they decided to hold off until the morning.

The next morning they broke into the superstore, which was closed for the New Years parade, and quickly sectioned it off into their own areas, like warlords guarding their own territory. Randy, who wanted to be president, came to his senses and recommended the use of the ticket thing, thereby restoring order to the young fiefdom – whoever had the lowest ticket number would get their way. And peace reigned. At least until the January 2nd shoppers came looking for sales.

So now, Earl has decided to cross off another item on his list, and return the ticket thing to the store. Eventually he convinces Randy that this is just the way that things must be, and after much crying, Randy agrees and another item is crossed off of the list.
