The old janitor has been working at the college for 16 years and nothing has changed. But one night he walks into the French room and suddenly he can speak French. The next night he cleans the physics lab and suddenly he is a phsyics expert. So he talks with his wife and decides to avoid the classrooms altogether. Bad idea. He cleans the library, and suddenly he is hit with all sorts of knowledge, and can speak languages of all sorts.
He is grilled by experts in every area, who mostly just laugh at him. Without knowing why, he runs from them and onto the football field, where he meets up with a spacecraft, which sucks his brain dry. Apparently they just wanted to collect the information (though we never actually meet them). Once gone, he returns to his normal self.
