The Twilight Zone Recap: Miniature
Charley Parkes (a young Robert Duvall) leads a rather uneventful life, going to work, going home to his mother. One day he stops in the museum where he notices a doll house. Only this doll house is different for the dolls actually move, like real people. Of course, dolls don't move, so he asks about it, only to be told that the doll is carved from a piece of wood from the actual house.
Charley then loses his job, and he begins spending more and more time watching the dolls live their lives. So much time that he gets obsessed and eventually suffers a near breakdown and ends up being sent to a hospital. He comes home after being given a clean bill of health and his mother lies him down in his room, where he promptly locks the door and sneaks out to the museum.
Naturally everyone is surprised that he is missing so they search everywhere. The doctor insists they check out the museum but no one there seems to see him either. Except the guard, who notices an extra doll in the house - but he isn't going to say anything.
