Lost Recap: Everybody Hates Hugo
As everyone is settling into the hatch, Hugo is given the job of doling out the food. This brings up memories of his winning the lottery, and how it cost him his friends, and naturally, he doesn't want it, as he is afraid that it will cause everyone to hate him because he'll have to tell them that they can't have what they want when they want it.
We get to see some interesting insight into Hurley as he has won the lottery, and he quits his job and spends a day off, wandering with a friend and asking a girl out who he has never had the courage to ask out before. Then they steal garden gnomes to place on his boss's yard before going to the convenience store, where his friend finds out that he won, and backs away with an odd expression on his face. We never really see a confrontation, but you know it was the end of their friendship.
Meanwhile, Jin, Michael and Sawyer meet survivors from the tail section of the flight, and Sun finds the bottle of messages from the raft, but she buries it in the sand on the beach so no one else can find it (and presumably so she doesn't have to deal with it).
Jack and Sayid explore the hatch to try and find out what's behind the electromagnetic force in the hatch, but discover that even below the floor there is very thick concrete that they can't penetrate.
