My Name is Earl Recap: White Lie Christmas
Earl is trying to make up to Joy for all the bad Christmas presents that he's given her over the years, so he's in a contest where all you have to do is be the last person who has your hand on a car and you win the car. He's got Randy and Catalina helping him too. The only problem is Earl forgets and shakes Randy's hand, so Earl is out almost before it starts. Luckily Randy left his hand on the car, so he's still in. Catalina too.
So Earl goes to Joy's and finds out that she hasn't told her parents that they got a divorce. So, not wanting to ruin Christmas, he puts in the next couple days pretending that they are still married and he's just returned from Iraq while Crabman climbs through the window at night.
But as it turns out, Joy's mom (Brett Butler) is pretending too - she tells Joy's dad (Blake Clark) that she is going off to get dialysis for her failing health. In reality, she's going to the Indian casino and gambling away Joy's inheritance, which is the only reason Joy is being nice to them in the first place.
Meanwhile, the contest is down to Randy and Catalina, but Catalina wants the car for herself, not for Joy, and it turns out she wins, but she is an illegal alien, so she can't claim the prize, and Randy wins. But when they take the car to Joy's, her mom takes the car and loses it at roulette at the Indian casino, which sets of a round of figuring out who is lying to who, and everything comes out in the end, which means Earl gets to cross it off his list. Whew.
