Amazing Stories Recap: Alamo Jobe
Jobe is fighting at the Alamo alongside Davy Crockett, but he sees things that no others do - tourists taking pictures, a souvenir shop, even a soda machine. He hears a tour group tell about how everyone died at the Alamo, and then gets an assignment to deliver a message that they need help. As he heads out on his mission, he's cornered and about to be shot as he is pulled out of the past and into the present because it's closing time. It saved his life. For now.
He heads through present-day San Antonio trying to deliver his message (and not get arrested), and as he does he manages to find his way to Shuttlecock Road and then to the antique store staffed by the grandson of the general who was supposed to receive the note. He recognizes the note as genuine, and hopes to help Jobe, but Jobe takes off back to the Alamo, where he opens the door to go back into the past. No telling why it was unlocked. That's the last we see of Jobe.
If you watch closely, you'll notice that the Alamo employee who pulls Jobe out of certain death and into the future is the late Robert V. Barron, who played Abraham Lincoln in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure.
