Tongue Stud Lightning Rod. It seems to make sense that having piercings may help to attract lightning. So setting up a couple of ballistics gel heads, Adam and Jamie test lightning “strikes” against the heads. The first strike hits the head without the stud, so they swap the position of the heads and the next strike hits the other one.
Time after time they try and it makes no difference whatsoever – even by adding more studs. The only way that they can attract the lightning is by putting a door knob into the head. Once they do that, it not only attracts the lightning, but gets a direct hit, right on the door knob itself. Otherwise the metal just isn’t enough and lightning is too unpredictable. Busted.
Trying to show that he is unpredictable, Adam got his tongue pierced. Unfortunately he couldn’t take it, so he took it out. Oh well.
Tree Cannon. In medieval times, a town was being threatened by their neighbors. so they built a cannon from a tree to defend their village. But when they lit it, it backfired and destroyed part of the village. Naturally, Adam and Jamie try to build one. They do so, and successfully fire it a couple of times. Since it seems to be working, they try and blow it up on purpose.
They do, by filling it up with black powder and then sealing it off. That definitely works and leaves little more than a black spot on the ground. In fact, the cannon explodes with much more force than intended, sending shards of the tree in every direction and it likely would have killed people if this is what happened to the villagers. Confirmed.
You Can’t Beat the Breath Test! Adam drinks scotch while Jamie drinks vodka and cranberry juice. Over 3 hours, they drink about 13 drinks each, to get them over the .08 blood-alcohol limit in California. After 3 hours, Adam can tell he’s drunk, but no one can tell anything different about Jamie. So now it’s time to see what the breathalyzer says. Adam plays a tune and gets .11. Jamie, meanwhile, is legally drunk at .09. Then the fun begins.
The guys tried using breath mints. Busted.
They tried biting into an onion. Busted.
They put batteries into their mouth. Busted.
They put pennies into their mouth. Busted.
Adam tries denture cream and goofy costume teeth. Busted.
They rinse their mouths with mouth wash. This one made it go up. Busted.
