According to Jim Recap: The Effort

When Jim and Cheryl go out to dinner with Andy and his latest girlfriend Talia, they naturally dress up because they're headed out to a fancy restaurant. But as soon as they get home, Cheryl changes into sweats and gets ready for bed. Jim wants to know why she doesn't put forth any effort any more. So when she does, it just so happens that it's on fight night, and that interferes with Jim's plans to watch the fight with Andy.

So Jim uses his knowledge of Cheryl to liquor her up (with a mere two toasts of wine), whereby she passes out into her salad, and he and Andy get to watch the pay-per-view fight. When Cheryl wakes up in the morning she apologizes and asks Jim to tell her all about it. He does, wishing that he and Andy hadn't shared shame sticks (butter sticks rolled in sugar), but instead had shared the special moments he was describing to his wife.

All is good until the cable bill comes and Cheryl sees the charge for the fight. She's about to dispute it when she talks things over with Dana and realizes that's the night she was watching the kids. Then Cheryl realizes that was the night that she and Jim were supposed to have together, and she knows she's been had, so Cheryl goes to confront Jim, and finds that he has prepared a special night for her in the treehouse.

She wants to be mad, but since he had prepared things before he even knew he was in trouble, she just can't be mad at him. He's even carved their names in the tree, just like he described doing to her previously.
