According to Jim Recap: The Garage Door
Cheryl can't understand why Jim doesn't listen, and Jim can't understand why Cheryl doesn't get that men and women just hear things differently. It's not that he doesn't listen - it's that he just can't hear her when she talks about certain subjects. Instead, he hears the ocean. Andy agrees, and for once, Dana agrees with Jim too, so it looks like Cheryl is outnumbered.
One day as Cheryl and Dana get ready to take the kids out, they get locked in the garage. As the power flickers, Cheryl realizes that she has to recall the instructions for opening the garage door that Jim has told her time and time again - only she can't. It seems like she'll have to admit that Jim was right. Or they could just break out of the garage and get the key hidden outside, so they try that route instead. Unfortunately, before they can get back to fix the door, Jim and Andy return and figure out what happened.
