Ghost Whisperer Recap: Love Never Dies
We return to things just after the events of last season have ended, but they have not quite resolved themselves. Notably, Andrea (Aisha Tyler) is still hanging around and hasn't quite decided that she's ready to move along. This is complicated by the fact that Wide Brim (or Romano) (John Walcutt), who I have formerly referred to as Dark Man, since he didn't have an official name that I had seen, is trying to get a hold of Andrea's soul in order to get closer to Melinda.
Naturally, Melinda wants to help her friend move along and cross over to the light. This is understandable, but first she needs to figure out what it is that Wide Brim wants, since she can't seem to do so. So she consults a hungry professor (Jay Mohr) for some assistance, and he helps her find out that he was a cult leader who now appears to be a dark spirit who is wanting to overtake a light spirit (that would be Melinda). Now that that's out of the way, Melinda focuses on getting to Andrea, and once she does that, she is able to make contact with her, and with the help of Andrea's brother Mitch (Dondre Whitfield), they convince Andrea to cross over.
At the end of the episode there is an odd segment with Michael Landes, who is strangely obsessed with Melinda. As he prepares to board a plane in Seattle to visit her, he forgets his ID, and heads back to his car to get it, but he is struck by another car and killed. Not sure where that is headed. We'll probably see more next week.
Looking at the cast list for upcoming episodes, it seems like the professor will be with us at least once more, and that there will be some cast changes to come. I hope so, because I think that Andrea's loss will be felt in coming episodes.
