As the tailies (and Jin, Michael and Sawyer) finally make contact with the rest of the survivors of the crash, they do so in a big way. Shannon is dead, the victim of a gunshot, courtesy of Ana-Lucia. Sayid tries to take it to her, but Mr. Eko proves too much for him and he ends up tied to a tree.
This gives Ana-Lucia a chance to reflect on her life. It turns out that she was a police officer in Los Angeles, undergoing psychiatric evaluation for being involved in an incident where an officer was shot - her. As it happens, she gets to go back to work - for her mother is also her captain. She wrangles her way into a patrol car, but in the first stop, she pulls her own weapon on someone, and when she gets back to the station, they found the guy who shot her. But she won't identify him, so he goes free. That night she heads out to find the guy, and fills him full of bullets.

My Name is Earl · Season 2 · Episode 2 · Originally Aired September 28, 2006
With Joy in jail, Earl, Crabman and Randy head to court to try and find out how much her bail will be. Well, Earl and Crabman do. Randy goes because he wants the judge to crack open his walnut with his "judge hammer". When the judge tells them, they are floored - Joy's bail is set at $1 million!
It turns out that this is her third strike. She thought it would be a good idea to copy some money one day, and as she was being taken in, she struck an officer, so that was two strikes right there. Now she's set to go down, and no one knows how they will get the money - until they realize that they do know someone - Chubby (Burt Reynolds) - who owns not only the local barebecue joint, but the local strip joint as well (two kinds of meat markets, I guess).
