As Jim and Andy prepare for the annual Chicago Hot Dog Eating Championship, they take decidedly different approaches. Jim nearly starves himself, while Andy stretches his stomach – something of an oxymoron, to be sure. But they have also forgotten one other thing, and that is to consider their competition in the competition, and that will be their ultimate downfall, for it is small Yoki (Suzy Nakamura) who out-eats both Jim and Andy to take the crown at the table. But that isn’t the end of it.
It turns out that Andy and Yoki start dating, for they share a love of eating, and so Jim gets to see that she is good at electronics (she hooks up Jim’s surround sound), her ability to play the harmonica in tune (she plays with the band) and her grilling tips (she tries to tell Jim when the steaks are burning, but he’ll have none of that, preferring to simply let the steaks burn). Eventually, the two of them get into an all-out brawl on the patio, eating everything in sight, which ends with Jim getting his stomach pumped.
It is there in the hospital that Jim and Andy finally have the heart-to-heart talk that they so badly need, and they find out that Jim simply missed his friend. Unfortunately, they have it while they climb together into the hospital bed to see how it moves around via remote control, and both Cheryl and Yoki get to see this lovely display of affection.
