Heroes Recap: Chapter Four: Collision
Matt, presumably still in LA (but his location is listed as unknown), is a captive of Claire's dad and the mysterious man, who seems to have powers that can wipe out your memory, and that's just what they're going to do to Matt.
Meanwhile, as Hiro and Ando arrive in Las Vegas, they are confronted with a decidedly unconventional decision - do they use Hiro's powers for a potentially sticky issue, or stick to the high road?
In the end, Ando wins out - mostly because they have no money - and Hiro uses his increasingly strong time control ability to win them a lot of it. This has the unfortunate side effect of getting them kicked out of a casino and then, just to make matters worse, beaten up by a gambler who knows that they cheated - he just doesn't know how. Still, he beats them up because he knows they cheated him.
Also in Las Vegas, Niki is given a chance to repay her debt by taking on a task given her by her creditor. She has decided that no matter how much money she owes, it isn't worth selling herself to repay, however, and decides to leave. But in the elevator, we see her reflection take things over and after beating up the goon, she heads back to the room, where she meets up with Nathan in what is surely going to get her debt repaid.
In Odessa, Claire wakes up after her incident last week to find herself in the morgue. When the morgue technician removes the branch from the back of her head, the light returns to her eyes and the blood starts flowing again. Then the tech leaves the room, which is convenient, because Claire starts moving and jumps off the table, and heads home to get some waffles.
Once she gets some food in her, Claire goes to school to confront the quarterback, and finds out that she isn't his first "conquest", and she decides to do something about it, so she asks him for a ride home later that day. When they get in the car, she asks to drive, and as they head out, she plows the car into a wall, knowing full well that she will survive (and obviously hoping that he won't).
In New York, Mohinder attempts to meet up with Nathan, but misses him.
Peter, however, heard that he came by and goes looking for Mohinder. When he finds him, Peter somehow convinces him to take a ride into the city to talk with Isaac, thinking that Isaac can unlock his flying powers, and Mohinder seems to suddenly have no belief at all in what is going on, which is a decided turn of events - it really looked like he was a believer at first.
We'll have to wait and see what happens there, because Isaac doesn't answer the door - he's in a trance creating a new painting. However, on the way back home, a strange scene unfolds with a Hiro from the future stopping time and having a short talk with Peter. Perhaps we'll see more next week, as that's when things end.
