Ghost Whisperer Recap: A Grave Matter
Melinda realizes every day that she misses Andrea, but on this day she goes to the graveyard to talk to her, and when she does, she gets a surprise visit from another ghost (David Paymer). It seems that this poor guy has been buried in the wrong grave, and to make matters worse, a grieving widow comes every day to cry for her dead husband - who isn't buried in the grave.
Over time, Melinda determines that the man met another man on the night he died, and that the other man wanted to die because of some business losses. It was the classic case of thinking that he was worth more dead than he was alive. So they had a few drinks in a bar and went their separate ways. A little while later, the other guy hits the now dead guy on the street, and before anyone comes, swaps identities with him, so that when they pick him up, they think he's the other guy. Thus the confusion.
Now what happened to the other guy? It turns out he went to this cabin in the woods where the dead guy was headed, and he's been there ever since, so that's where Melinda goes. There she meets an unhappy girl who is the daughter of the dead guy. Looks like this episode is a three-for-one special - she gets to help the guy get out of the wrong grave, she gets to help the guy who isn't dead go back to his wife and she gets to help the unhappy daughter learn to love her dead father.
All the while, Delia tries to come to terms with a new purse she bought, which happens to be haunted by the spirit of the last lady to own it, who happens to be wanting to read a note that someone stuck in it before she died. Before this show ends, Melinda gets to help her, making it four-for-one. Wow. That has to be some kind of record.
