Returning to the plight of Sawyer and Kate, we find that they really don't want to be prisoners of The Others. In fact, Sawyer has come up with a new plan for escape - by rerouting the water pipe of the reward system in his cage, he can create a puddle in front so that the next person who comes to see him will stand in it, and grabbing hold of them, Sawyer can give them the shock of their life.
Unfortunately for him, the next person to visit is Ben, who apparently watched the plan on his television, and turned off the power, so it doesn't work when Sawyer tries to turn on the current. Sawyer gets beaten and tied down, and told that he now has a pacemaker installed in his heart, and if his heart goes above a certain rate, his heart will explode. To help him control himself, he's given a nifty watch that beeps when it hits a certain pulse. And he's told that he isn't allowed to tell Kate what happened.

Jericho · Season 1 · Episode 7 · Originally Aired November 1, 2006
Gray Anderson returns to Jericho with news of the outside world - mostly that it's not a pretty site. What he has seen is that things are rough. He himself looks like he's a victim of radiation poisoning, but as the episode goes on, it looks like perhaps he's just been badly sunburned.
Meanwhile, Jake tries to broker a deal with Jonah - who appears to be the "he" spoken of by Mitch last week in 9:02, but more importantly, he's also the father of Emily (and the brother of Chris, who Jake is widely credited with causing the death of many years before). The plot thickens.

Heroes · Season 1 · Episode 6 · Originally Aired October 30, 2006
While Hiro and Ando try to leave Las Vegas, the gambler who they attempted to swindle gives them an offer they cannot refuse - he wants them to help him cheat someone else, and so they find themselves playing poker once again.
Suddenly Hiro has the desire to go to the bathroom, and when they do, they know something has happened outside - everyone is slaughtered, and Hiro is confronted with the fact that he may have simply run from his destiny rather than confronting it. Ando calms Hiro by explaining how perhaps in the future, when he has better control over his powers, he can return and make things right, and that cheers Hiro up again.
