Jericho Recap: Rogue River

Jake and Eric continue their quest to find some medicine for their dad, who isn't getting any better. When they finally get to Rogue River - a 90 mile trip that somehow seems to take better than 24 hours - they find a hospital in tatters, and they meet up with another part of Jake's past in the form of a lone mercenary crew member who tells a tale of shooting up the sick and dying that were left in the hospital.

We also find out that Jake served as a truck driver (or so he says), which is perhaps where he learned some of the information that he knows. Perhaps he also served in some other capacity. For now, he and Eric manage to get into the hospital and also find a doctor, who tells them that they will need a drug that can be given intravenously, as the organs are likely shutting down by the time they get back.

Unfortunately, by the time they get this figure out, the rest of the mercenaries have returned and it looks like a firefight is going to break out. Eric disguises himself as a doctor to distract them and get to the drugs, just long enough for them to get what they need and make a break for it.

Meanwhile, back in Jericho, only two stories are unraveling.

Emily and Heather are trying to recreate a school experiment by creating ice using fertilizer and water, which doesn't work until they realize that they need metal bowls. Then they can indeed create ice and manage to keep Johnston cool for the time being.

Across town, the Hawkins family receives a visit from Gray and undergoes a rather uncomfortable series of questions, but they seem to make it through - thanks in no small part to an FBI badge uncovered during the investigation. No telling if the badge is fake or not, but Gray buys it as real, so it looks like they won't be asked any more questions, at least for now. It also comes out that Lawrence, Kansas was the target of a blast (not Kansas City, as I had previously mentioned).
