When Maggie (Kathleen Noone) comes to visit for Christmas, she usually stays with Jim and Cheryl – that’s just how it’s always been done. Not this year. Dana and Ryan have decided that it’s their turn to take their place as premier couple as the family.

They start by picking Maggie up at the airport. This seemingly gracious act allows them to begin their sinister plan (and also means that Jim misses out on his annual trip to the nudie bar) by getting to Maggie first. When they arrive home, they offer their spare bedroom that isn’t being used, because it’s so much nicer than Maggie having to sleep in the race car bed that she would normally use (belonging to Kyle – he gets to sleep in a suitcase in the girls’ room).

This is when it heats up, but Dana and Ryan don’t admit what they are up to until the next night, when they get ready to go out to dinner and arrive all dressed up. That’s when it comes out that Ryan belongs to the country club, and Maggie has always wanted to go – so they’ll just go there instead. It seems that Jim and Cheryl have enjoyed their position for too long. That’s all Jim and Cheryl needed to hear.

They bring in the kids, who put on a Christmas show for grandma, which brings her to tears – that doesn’t last long, however as the tension quickly escalates to a show of one-upmanship, and that gives Maggie a headache. So she criticizes everyone for being so selfish at this time of year. And returns to Ryan’s because he has drugs to take care of her headache.
