Jericho Recap: Crossroads

Stanley, Bonnie and Mimi are roused late one night to find the crew from Ravenwood fueling their vehicles from their pumps. As has been established (way back in 9:02), though he is a nice guy, Stanley doesn't take too kindly to people availing themselves of his things. Though they could probably kill everyone, they don't and leave quietly. Stanley heads to town to warn everyone.

It looks like Jake sat up all night, waiting to see if the Ravenwood crew followed them back from the hospital where Eric lost his wallet. With no sign of them, they are starting to rest easy - until Stanley arrives to let them know what just happened at his farm.

Everyone gathers to decide how to best handle the situation, and they decide a roadblock on the bridge is in order. As the barricade is erected, the invaders arrive. What I don't get is how they left the farm and just made it, while Stanley had time to get to Jake's, then they gathered everyone in town and built the barricade. Something just doesn't add up.

Anyway, when they see the barricade, Jake and company are told that they have four hours to take it down, and they turn around and leave again. That's when Gray decides that they need to blow up the bridge, and just about everyone agrees with him. Eric tries to convince them not to do this, but he's vastly outnumbered, so he tries to gather some help from anywhere.

While everyone else is at the bridge, Heather is at Bailey's with Emily, who was supposed to be married today. Unfortunately, she's drinking too much and having very strange visions of her boyfriend. The visions are strange because Heather is telling her how she can look forward to a boring life, and it's looking more and more like Emily wants to be with Jake. This could be troublesome, but it's one of the less interesting plot lines in the show.

Finally, Eric heads home, and has a confrontation with April, who wants to tell him that she is pregnant. Before she does, she says that she now sees a future with him, and he says that unfortunately he can't see one with her, because he's in love with Mary Bailey. That could be bad.

On a good note, Eric's dad is back up and about, and he tells Eric to do what he can to save the bridge, so Eric jumps in his car and heads out to get Jonah, just in time to save Jake from getting shot by the Ravenwood goons. For now, it looks like the town is safe, but there's no telling what will happen next week.

Incidentally, the previews mention a "fall finale" in the near future. Looks like Lost isn't the only show going on hiatus...
