Jericho Recap: Red Flag

While Jake and Stanley are out hunting, they see a number of parachutes in the sky (twelve, to be exact). While the first thought is that perhaps there is some sort of ground invasion on its way, that thought is rapidly put to bed when the find pallets of relief supplies. Several of the pallets contain food, some medical supplies, others blankets. One even contains a generator. That one, however, lands on Stanley's farm, and it turns out that the residents of Jericho weren't the only ones to see that one fall. Jonah and his men saw it too, and when they do, they head out to Stanley's place and take it for their own.

When word gets back to town about what happened, Jake, Eric, and several others grab their guns and head out to confront Jonah about the generator. But wouldn't you know it - Jonah isn't interested in giving it back, because he's been barred from operating in town. Now if the town would like to reopen negotiations, that stance may change.

As the discussion continues, it seems that someone has managed to sneak into the back of Jonah's compound and start the truck that holds the generator, and as luck would have it, it is the one person that Jonah won't fire on - his daughter, Emily. This is an unfortunate turn of events for him, however, as Mitchell thinks this means that he is getting soft, and perhaps it is time for someone else to take over the leadership of their operation.

Meanwhile, the town is having their own power struggles, as Gray wants to distribute the food, but everyone else thinks that perhaps it could be a ploy, to weaken the town, and make it easier for someone to come in and defeat them in a ground attack. True to form, Gray partakes of some of the food, which proves that it at least doesn't have an immediate affect on him.

With Jonah barred from operating out of the market, operated by Gracie Leigh, it is decided that all the food will be placed there for a sort of warehouse, until they can decide what will be done with it. Hopefully April can figure out a way to test the food to see if it contains anything dangerous - or at least something bad will happen to Gray before everyone else decides to dig into the food.

Meanwhile, out at Stanley's farm, Mimi laments the loss of her mother, as they used to fly to Mexico and have mango margaritas on the beach. Wanting to help, Stanley does his best to compensate, by creating what are perhaps the world's best Tango margaritas (yes, made with Tang). Judging by his reaction, it tastes pretty bad, and Mimi doesn't even try it. But they do finally kiss for the first time.

In town, the residents of Jericho celebrate the generator, which they use to power a couple of strands of light bulbs. I'm thinking that may not have been the best usage of the generator, but maybe they just wanted to see if it would work. What do I know.

Somewhat strangely, there was no sign of Heather in this episode, and both Skylar and Dale seem to have dropped off the show as well.

Stay tuned for next week's show, billed as the "Fall Finale".
