Close to Home Recap: A Father's Story

This episode seems at first to start in a somewhat backwards fashion, with the verdict being read at the beginning - but in reality, it's the start of the tale. For we find out that the accused is getting off without so much as a slap on the wrist. But then the victim (actually, the father of the victim, for the victim herself is dead) grabs a gun from his car and begins shooting wildly. Unfortunately he isn't a very good shot, and he misses the accused completely - but he wounds Doug Hellman and kills his assistant, which leads to the actual crime that will be tried during this episode. Of course, the original will be investigated, too.

The Amazing Race Recap: Ouarzazate, Morocco

We Just Won't Die, Like Roaches

After arriving in Kiev, Ukraine, the first three teams to depart did so in relative close proximity to one another. Single moms Lyn and Karlyn were close to two hours behind, but as is common, a flight to another country managed to bunch things up once again. However, a stopover in Paris proved to their advantage, as the moms seemed to make the best use of time to plan their route to the antique shop, which was the location of their next clue.

Once landing, the two beat the other three teams to the shop and the next clue, while Tyler and James and Rob and Kimberly arrived at about the same time, and Dustin and Kandice made it there last - an order that surprised some of the people, to say the least (myself included). At the shop, each team had to pick up a charm which would perhaps bring them good luck at the next Pit Stop.

All of the teams picked up their clues and headed to the next stop - Atlas Studios, a famous backlot which has been used to film such movies as Cleopatra and Gladiator. Unfortunately for Lyn and Karlyn, their lead was short-lived, as the lot didn't open until the next morning, so once again the teams found themselves bunched up, waiting to make their next move.

Richie, who is still stinging from the fact that Lina doesn't want to be with him, has run into a convenience store. Not run into as in gone into the store to pick something up, but run into as in actually driven his car into the front window. He didn't do it on purpose, but now he's there, and he has decided that it may just be better if he doesn't get out. It's a safe place.

According to Jim Recap: Cheryl Sings

As Cheryl tries to keep up with her cousin Mindy, she makes one of the most boneheaded claims of all - she says that she sings for the band. It's not bad enough to simply claim that she cans sing, but she says she sings for the band. Unfortunately, Mindy calls her on it, because she's having an engagement party the next week, and she needs a band - so of course she would ask her own cousin to sing. This isn't going to be pretty.

Jericho Recap: Vox Populi

The Fall Finale of Jericho begins with Dale finding the body of Gracie Leigh in the market, and then the town is treated to a special version of events through one Mitchell Cafferty. According to his story, Jonah showed up at the compound with a cut on his arm and told the gang that he had killed Gracie because she would no longer be doing business with him. It seems to me that Jonah is perhaps lacking in morals, but I don't think he was the guilty party here.

Once on the cruise, however, Jim was found to be a less-than-ideal father for the video, and he was replaced by an actor. When he found out that Cheryl had to kiss Ted, the actor playing the father, he was steamed. But if they quit the job, they had to pay for the cruise, so he pretended to go along with it.
