According to Jim Recap: The Toilet

When Jim suggests to Cheryl that they sleep in the nude, it just makes Cheryl think that they need new sheets – no way is she going to get in those nasty old sheets with no clothes on. And if they replace the sheets, they will have to get a new comforter, and redo the curtains and the paint and the rug as well. Before you know it, she’s redoing the entire bedroom and she has her eyes set on the bathroom too. But the whole time, she says that she wants Jim to give his input.

According to Jim Recap: The Truck

Cheryl helps Ruby and Gracie make a monstrous bear for school, and she’s depending on Jim to deliver it when it is ready. When she asks him where the truck is, he says it’s still in the shop. But he gets all defensive when she says that she should call to see what is taking them so long on getting the part ordered, so she suspects something is up – she just doesn’t know what it is. When she, Dana and Andy are at the market (Dibai Market, presumably named after producer/writer Nastaran Dibai) and she spots Jim’s truck, she knows she has him.

Mythbusters Recap: Air Cylinder Rocket

Air Cylinder of Death. In the Jaws Special, the Exploding Scuba Tank segment proved that a scuba tank doesn’t really explode so much as they take off like a rocket. So what happens if you purposely shear the valve off of such a tank? Can you make a rocket out of one that will go through a brick wall? There’s only one way to find out.

Jim and Andy are working on what is perhaps their biggest job ever for a wealthy client and it’s leading to all sorts of problems. Jim wants to do everything that they are asked to do, because he’s hoping that it will lead to more jobs for more wealthy clients. Andy doesn’t, because he’s the one who ends up doing most of the work. It might not be so bad if he just had to do architect things, but he also has to drive four hours to pick up doorknobs and watch the dog and tasks that are way beneath him. That is a problem.

Heroes Recap: Chapter Eleven: Fallout

After a brief review of how everyone got to where they are now, the Fall Finale of Heroes starts up, and we see Claire with her dad. Perhaps the strangest part of it all is that her dad seems to be entirely open with her – telling Claire that he has known for some time, and that he has done things of which he is not proud, all in the interest of protecting her. Then he tells Claire that she needs to not tell anyone else, and to make sure to get the tapes she made with Zach and destroy them, so that no one else can find out the secret. Being the good little girl that she is, she promptly does just this.

Dirty Jobs Recap: Snake Researcher

Lobster Fisherman. The first part of this job isn’t actually fishing, and it is easily the dirtier part of the job. You see, to catch lobster, you have to find something that the lobster likes to eat. In this case, it’s fish. Dirty, nasty, smelly, rotting fish. And then you have to get a whole lot of them and pack them up into easily moved containers that can be sold to the people who go out onto boats and actually do the catching of the lobsters. This is the job that Mike does first. Only when he has gained sufficient experience packing the bait and helping load it on boats does he actually get to get on a boat and try to bring in some of the little guys that cost $30 per pound in Beverly Hills.

This episode is different than just about every other in this series. Rather than a standard episode as might be seen on the show (that is, one produced internally), this is a short film that won the best short subject prize as the Cannes Film Festival (in 1962), and was brought over to The Twilight Zone to be shown.

The story begins with a notice posted on a burned-out tree stump:

ORDER
ANY CIVILIAN
caught interfering with
the railroad bridges
tunnels or trains will be
SUMMARILY HANGED

This notice, in turn, leads us to a bridge – presumably the one named in the episode title – and eight soldiers, who are slowly going through the paces of hanging a civilian – presumably for one of the crimes mentioned above. The pace of the hanging is horribly slow.

The Amazing Race Recap: Barcelona, Spain

Dude, I’m Such a Hot Giant Chick Right Now!

The penultimate leg of the race began from Ouarzazate, Morocco, and the four remaining teams set out on this leg of the race. Beauty queens Dustin and Kandice, after finishing the last leg in last place, needed a first-place finish to avoid a 30-minute penalty in the next leg, and to have much hope of making the final stretch to the million dollar prize.

Tyler and James and Lyn and Karlyn left just a moment apart, understandable as they arrived in a virtual deadlock. Rob and Kimberly were about fifteen minutes behind them, and Dustin and Kandice were perhaps another half-hour behind them. The way this season of the race has been run, not an insurmountable distance by any stretch of the imagination. The producers have done a remarkable job this time of keeping the teams tightly bunched together, so it seemed like it might be very possible for the two blondes to keep things going, but it would remain to be seen if the other teams would allow that to happen.

According to Jim Recap: The Baby

Roxanne (Jennifer Coolidge) returns to see her brother Jim, but this time she brings a surprise with her – she is pregnant. All Jim can think of is trying to protect his friend Andy, but just like in Vegas Baby (Part 1, Part 2), Andy doesn’t want to be protected. He even goes so far to say that he went back to Las Vegas to have the marriage annulled and spent some time with Roxanne, so maybe the baby is his. Then again, maybe he’s just ready to be a dad.

Gracie is out of control. She just won’t listen. So when she is caught writing “boogers” on the bathroom mirror with lipstick (belonging to Dana), it’s time that someone puts their foot down. Cheryl thinks that the books are still the way to go. Jim thinks that the books are for stupid people, and something new needs to be tried. He suggests that Gracie has to clean the mess in the bathroom while he eats candy in front of her. Andy agrees, but he would make one change – he wants to eat in front of her too.
