According to Jim Recap: The Flannelsexual
As Cheryl and Dana prepare for the coed baby shower, Jim and Andy head to the television station for a possible job. However, before they get called in for their interview, someone comes into the waiting room and asks simply for "Jim". It seems that they get the wrong Jim, and you-know-who ends up on the air, explaining his 19-point plan to all of Chicago. When asked about being a metrosexual, he tells them that he isn't a metrosexual, he's a flannelsexual (he's wearing a flannel shirt), and his first point is that there is one good reason why men should not go to a baby shower - because it's a baby shower!
When he gets home, Dana comes over almost in tears, and Ryan starts in as well. Naturally, as soon as the girls are gone, Ryan collapses in his arms and thanks him for making it so that he doesn't have to go. It seems that every man who was invited saw the show, and now they are insisting that they are flannelsexuals too, so they aren't going to go. Since they aren't going, neither is Ryan.
After three days, Jim is still the talk of the town, and his video is the second-most downloaded video on the Internet. Then the station calls, they want to do a relationship segment and have him back on the air - on purpose this time. Cheryl can't believe it, so she does the only thing she can - she calls in while Jim is there, and identifies herself as Meryl, whose husband Tim, is being difficult.
This all spirals out of control and Jim gets himself practically thrown off the show, and by the time he gets home, Cheryl is ready for him - but she is armed with his own theories, which traps him in his own logic, meaning he can't get out. He's stuck, so he's going to have to go to the baby shower. One of the better episodes I've seen in some time.
