The Class Recap: The Class Visits a Bad Neighborhood
Just imagine Richie in a bathrobe. As bad as that is, imagine him sitting on the couch, next to Duncan. You're right, that didn't happen. He was sitting next to his mom. You see, Richie didn't have any clothes to wear. When he left Fern, he took only the clothes on his back, so he has to wash them every day. Apparently he sits around in the robe while the clothes are cleaned. Nice. So he, Duncan, Nicole and Lina climb into the truck to head back to his apartment to get him some clothes. Don't ask how they got Lina into the truck. Her legs are still broken, and they didn't show it, so I don't know. All I know is that when they got there, Fern was waiting and she had a gun.
Luckily for them, Fern got her hand stuck in the gun while she cocked the hammer, and they managed to get out alive. Until Richie felt bad because she thought she might really be hurt. When they heard the gun go off, he had to go back and check on her. That's when they found out that she had shot the couch, and now she was really mad, because she liked the couch.
As this drama takes place across town, Ethan has his own problems. If you recall, his girlfriend left him in the pilot episode because he was so darn clingy. He hasn't learned anything. He gives his new girl (Palmer, the one who Kat can't stand) a massive bouquet of flowers. But when Kat sees it, she warns him off, and to get out from under it, he does the only thing he can think of - he tells Palmer that Kat sent it. This has an unintended side effect.
It seems that Palmer had a small crush on Kat in school, and this just serves to bring that back to the surface. Perhaps needless to say, but Kat isn't all that interested in returning the feelings. Ethan, however, would like to see where this goes. Kat being Kat, she decides to play it out, and suggest that perhaps they should try out this threesome thing. The only change she would make is to bring Kyle in on the festivities, and that pretty much blows it for Ethan. Problem solved! No word on either Aaron or Perry, who we haven't seen for a couple of weeks.
We do, however, find out that Richie managed to get away from Fern by telling her the made-up name of his girlfriend: Holly Ellenbogen. It's just his bad luck that the name isn't made up, as everyone is quick to tell him when he finally makes it back to the truck. Speaking of Holly, she gets a call from Fern telling her that she's going to get her - but since Oprah is practicing her piano, Holly can't hear a word she says, so it looks like she'll be surprised by the whole thing. Something to look forward to!
