According to Jim Recap: Hoosier Daddy
Believe it or not, Jim and Cheryl have been married for fifteen years. With this momentous occasion, they have decided to open the goals that they set for themselves when they were married. Cheryl has met her goals - she has helped more than 100 people, she has met Erik Estrada (see Mister Right). Jim, well he just had one goal. He wanted to do it in each of the states of the Big Ten Conference. He has made it in all but one - Indiana. Cheryl suggests that since their anniversary still isn't over, they could still make it. They jump in the minivan and head to Hoosierville!
When they get to the Seabreeze Motel, they find that the room will be a bit costly ($82.50), and Jim doesn't want to pay. But eventually he does - only to find out that Dana has called and she says she's in labor, and Ryan is out of town. So they have to go home to help because Andy is useless (and drunk). When they finally get there, it turns out to be gas, so Jim and Cheryl leave again.
They guy at the Seabreeze (Tim Meadows) isn't anxious to help them out, but he does offer another room - for $200. As soon as they get the key, however, a tornado warning comes over the radio, and they all have to take off. So Jim and Cheryl jump in the minivan, taking everything from the lobby that isn't nailed down, including a phone and gumball machine, and head out on the road, hoping to beat the tornado.
Unfortunately, it seems that they are headed into the tornado, not away from it, and they eventually need to make a dash for it, so they find what seems to be an abandoned farmhouse and jump into the shelter. There, they find that they have four minutes until midnight, so they make a mad scramble to get it in before time expires (which they do, with two minutes to spare). Just then, the lights come back on and they are greeted by a lovely family who was already hunkered down in their tornado shelter. Nice.
