My Name is Earl Recap: Our Cops is On

While Sundays at the Crab Shack are typically pretty bad days, because the food is running out and the keg is running dry, there are occasionally good days, and every few months, things in Camden County pick up significantly when someone (often Randy) notices that a very special show is coming on the television that day. For it seems that a while back, Cops was filmed, and while not everyone made the show, it makes everyone feel a little better inside, knowing that their little corner of the world made the big time, if only for a short while.

As Cheryl and Dana prepare for the coed baby shower, Jim and Andy head to the television station for a possible job. However, before they get called in for their interview, someone comes into the waiting room and asks simply for “Jim”. It seems that they get the wrong Jim, and you-know-who ends up on the air, explaining his 19-point plan to all of Chicago. When asked about being a metrosexual, he tells them that he isn’t a metrosexual, he’s a flannelsexual (he’s wearing a flannel shirt), and his first point is that there is one good reason why men should not go to a baby shower – because it’s a baby shower!

According to Jim Recap: The Punch

Jim finds out that Kyle is having trouble with the school bully, and what’s worse is that he suspects that it’s because of Cheryl and the way she coddles him – treating him like a little mouse, or a little kitty, or giving him butterfly kisses! So on the way to school, Jim practices throwing a punch, and when they get to school, he asks Kyle to point him out. But Kyle goes a little overboard, and throws first one punch, then another. The good news is that they are good punches. The bad news is that Kyle gets suspended for a week!

This episode actually has two ghosts (well, there are more than two, but two primary ghosts). The focus is on Natalie and her twin Zoe. Melinda and Andrea briefly meet Natalie first, but only as she asks to use the bathroom. Then Melinda speaks a bit longer with Zoe (the ghost). It seems that Natalie and Zoe are twins, but Zoe has met an untimely demise. This is the primary ghost for the episode, but while Natalie and Zoe aren’t around, Melinda actually has her own ghost – the memory of her grandmother.
