Lost Recap: Not in Portland

The third season of Lost (finally) picks up again with this episode, and we get to see what happens with Ben - or at least, we get an update on what's happening with Ben, because it isn't exactly resolved during this episode. At least we get a morsel, which may be better than nothing.

The action picks up right where it left off in I Do about three months ago, with Jack trying to buy time for Sawyer and Kate to get free from the evil clutches of The Others by snipping a hole in Ben, and presumably giving a small head start to his compatriots. Unfortunately, he doesn't know that they are currently on a different island than the other island, where the other survivors are on the beach. So it's all for naught.

Carcass Surveyor. If you aren't familiar with the lifecycle of the salmon, then you probably don't know that they live for a while, and then they return to where they were born in order to spawn themselves - at which point they die. But in order to successfully spawn, salmon need very specific conditions to be met. Even then, the likelihood that they will do so is not always guaranteed. So teams monitor the waters to check out the conditions of the spawning grounds to see what's happening, and do what they can to keep track of the carcasses. Yes, they actually count the dead salmon. And more.

Grease: You're the One That I Want Recap: One Danny and One Sandy Must Leave

I mentioned last week that Matt Nolan and Ashley Anderson would be the ones to go home this week, and when they got up on stage, I thought perhaps I had nailed it. But strangely, there were four competitors up there, not two.

So it seems that this show will have a slightly different format than American Idol. Fair enough. Add Jason Celaya and Allie Schulz to the bottom four. But in an odd move, they were told that they wouldn't be told who was leaving until later. And with that, the other performers did their thing.

Rome Recap: Heroes of the Republic

While last week's episode had a bit of action what with Pullo and Vorenus rescuing the children and all, this time around there isn't so much. It's more about strategy, and there's plenty of it.

Octavian the Elder has made his way back to the city, and with him those forces that are loyal to him. Unfortunately, it seems that he doesn't have too many men on his side, so something is going to have to give. He'll probably have to make up with Antony if things don't break his way soon.
