Dirt Recap: Pilot

Let me start by saying that this series is definitely not for everyone, for any number of reasons. First, it is essentially a soap opera. A highly stylized one, to be sure, but a soap opera nonetheless. Your mother's soap opera, it is not, however, for it is absolutely full of just what the title proclaims - the show has dirt, and plenty of it. You get language (in fact, much of what is rarely - if ever - heard on standard television), you get nudity the likes of which has rarely seen the light of day (which is likely why the show airs on cable at 10pm), you get drugs and you even get violence.

Yes, there is dirt and plenty of it. But outside of that, the show is actually pretty darn good. Be warned, fans of Monica Geller this is not prime-time network tee-vee, but it is definitely must-see. It's better than The Sopranos has been for four seasons or more. It's better than any reality show. So get ready to get dirty.

Dirt Recap: Blogan

There is a hot new couple on the scene, and they've been dubbed "Blogan" - Blaire and Logan. The hot rumor is that they are pregnant, but no one can find out anything about it. Lucky for Lucy, she has the inside track - it seems that her deal with Holt has reached a new level, and is reminiscent of just about any deal with the devil.

Just as you think you're done, you find out that you are in deeper than you think. In this case, Holt finds out that Lucy has a tape that shows Julia having sex with one of her on-screen co-stars, apparently in the midst of a drug-induced state of arousal. Let's just say that it doesn't make him very happy. Lucy uses this to get him to help her find out what's happening with the "Blogan Baby", since Julia is good friends with the couple.

Dirt Recap: Ovophagy

Lucy is about to launch into her great master plan that will save the magazines that she runs - and, ultimately, herself. She has decided to combine Drrt and Now into one monstrous publication called Dirt Now - offering the credibility of Now with all the lurid fun of Drrt. But she only has one week to make it happen.

To start things off on the right foot, she heads into the conference room to show everyone a video of sharks eating each other in the womb - presumably this will give everyone the motivation that the need to not be the ones getting eaten, but instead to be the ones doing the eating. One particular old-timer of Now decides that he doesn't like what's happening, and Lucy lets him know, in no uncertain terms, that he's fired.

Dirt Recap: What to Expect When You're Expecting

Don and Kira get even closer, including having some sex as Kira gets closer to her due date. Lucy introduces us to more of her family, as we meet her mother, who is getting remarried - on the same day that Lucy's father killed himself.

Speaking of Lucy's family, Leo tells Lucy that he's seeing someone, but when he won't tell her the details, it does nothing other than pique her curiosity, so she sics Don on him. Probably inappropriate, but did Leo really expect anything else? When she does, Don finds out that Leo is seeing action star and family man Jack Dawson, which doesn't go over well at all.
