Heroes Recap: Chapter Fifteen: Run!
In Texas, Claire goes back to the buffet to find out what's happening with her real mom. That's right, she can't get enough of that trailer park trash. Yes, I can say that. Just wait. You see, it's not enough that her mom says that her father doesn't want to meet her. Her mom says it's all about money. But then she lies about the amount of money. That's just trash. Now I'm going to hide so she doesn't set me on fire.
While all this is happening, Claire hides outside and picks up some of the conversation, but not enough to really know what is going down. So she throws a rock through Nathan's window. And she certainly doesn't know that Nathan is Peter's brother. That makes it a little strange, and I guess a good thing that they never did anything back when Peter came to town to save her. I mean he is a little older than she is and all, right? But it still just would have been a little gross, you know?
Meanwhile, Hiro and Ando (wherever they are now - I think they have made it to Las Vegas) are still trying to figure out what's happening - and Hiro tells Ando that you have to have hope (much like on Tricia Tanaka Is Dead). Unlike there, however, here, Hope just happens to walk around the corner. Life works out that way sometimes.
Unfortunately, she's a bit of a bitch, as even though she agrees to introduce them to Linderman in exchange for retrieving her bag from her room, that's not the way it works out. Ando gets her the bag, and she takes him with her, but Hiro gets punched and stuck in a storage closet. Not a nice time. Ando is in love, but Hiro gets the shaft. 'm glad Ando is getting things to work out for him, but I feel bad for Hiro.
Over on the left coast, Matt has picked up some work as a bodyguard, but wouldn't you know it - the body he's guarding is being stalked by Jessica. This guy has luck, alright, but it's all bad. If there's one person you would have to hate to guard against, it would have to be her. While he does manage to hear her thoughts, and gets his guy to some sort of safety, it doesn't last, and Jessica breaks out of her bonds quickly enough to kill his charge and throw Matt out the window (he lives, however).
While the hapless LAPD is investigating, Matt remembers hearing the guy talk about a ceiling tile, and pulls it open to find a cool $2 million worth of diamonds, which he doesn't report. I can't say that I blame him. Not sure what will happen to Jessica when she comes home empty-handed. At least she killed the guy.
Next up, we meet a new hero, and he can melt stuff. Mostly metal stuff, but really just about anything. Just turns it into liquid. Then it hardens again. It's really artsy, and not terribly practical. I was talking with my son, as we're not sure if the object has to stand still for a while or not - for instance, could he melt a speeding bullet? Otherwise, I don't know if this could do very well. But it is cool to see, and the guy's apartment is a mess. But Sylar intercepts the call to Mohinder, and sucks his brain just in time to meet Mohinder, setting up an unholy alliance of sorts. We'll see where that goes.
Back in Odessa, Mother Bennet is having a bit of a breakdown. It seems that The Haitian has cleared her out one too many times, and now she can't even recognize the fact that she has a daughter. That's probably not a good thing.
Finally, to make up for her missed assignment, Jessica gets another assignment. It's Nathan.
