Sanjaya Malakar finally left Last week, so now we are on our own.
Tonight, it’s all about music that the contestants find inspirational. I don’t know what that means, but we’ll find out together. There isn’t a coach this week.
Melinda Doolittle
There Will Come a Day by Faith Hill
Lakisha Jones
I Believe by Fantasia
Blake Lewis
Imagine by John Lennon
Chris Richardson
Change the World by Eric Clapton
Jordin Sparks

The Change by Garth Brooks
This week is also the big Idol Gives Back extravaganza. The phones are open for four hours, and $0.10 of every call, up to $10 million, will be donated to charity. Or something. Also, no one is going home. But two people are going home next week. I guess they don’t want to associate charity with the end of a dream or something. Whatever.
The votes will be added together, so it doesn’t hurt to vote. It just won’t matter for a week.
Frankly, I wasn’t impressed by anyone. I thought that they were all average. Even Phil, who nailed country last week, didn’t do very well this week with Garth Brooks (even though Garth may be more pop than country sometimes). Everything was just ho-hum. Maybe next week will be better, because it’s still anyone’s game.
