Melinda meets a new resident of Grandview named Gabriel, and it seems that they share a little secret - they can both see ghosts. Naturally, this gives them both some reason for pause, and they are somewhat hesitant to share what they know with each other. Then Amy, the flight attendant from the plane crash shows up and asks Melinda to help her. It seems that there’s a dark force in town that’s trying to cause trouble. I wonder who that can be?
Our favorite professor starts following the two around to see what he can find out, only to be discovered by Gabriel. When he figures out that Payne has been snooping, Gabriel goes nuts. It’s like he’s a completely different person, which of course he is, he’s just been hiding it from everyone.
As it turns out, Melinda finds out just how dark good old Gabriel can be when she discovers that he actually has been gathering a dark army of ghosts - he’s not interested in helping them cross over, he wants to keep them around for his own desires (whatever those may be). He’s collecting them!
Melinda does manage to get Amy to cross over, and she also makes another announcement - which you’ll know if you’ve been reading my summaries for any length of time. She tells Professor Payne that his wife is hanging around and that she has something to tell him. That’s right folks, she’s dead. No secret here - I said that a while back. In any case, Payne’s wife wants to apologize for having an affair, but he can’t take it. This turns her away, and with authority, too. She’s ticked, so she goes to Gabriel for her closure, vowing that he will regret his decision!
