American Idol Recap: Top 6 (First Round)

Sanjaya Malakar finally left Last week, so now we are on our own.

Tonight, it's all about music that the contestants find inspirational. I don't know what that means, but we'll find out together. There isn't a coach this week.

The Riches Recap: Virgin Territory

When Dale left his father out in the woods to die last week, it apparently wasn't just to become the head of the Traveler group. I'm sure that's it, but it wasn't the only reason.

When a leader, especially a leader as beloved as Earl is buried, all the Travelers who are out on the road come back to attend the funeral, and it seems like that may have been the real reason. Dale wants to confront Doug and Cherien face-to-face. Or maybe he just wants to kill them. Either way, it will work.

Heroes Recap: Chapter Eighteen: Parasite

After Company Man, it would be nice if things would stick to a general story line rather than jumping everywhere. Alas, it is not to be. We're back to anywhere and everywhere.

At the Deveaux building, Peter and Isaac face off over Simone (well, over the body of Simone). I still think giving Isaac the gun was a bad idea. In Las Vegas, Hiro has been banned from casinos for being a cheat. At Primatech Paper, Thompson has found himself a new recruit, and she says that HRG is telling the truth about not knowing where Claire is. Apparently having his own mind wiped by The Haitian was a good idea.

According to Jim Recap: The Grill II

In The Grill, Jim and Andy had a few issues because Andy didn't appreciate that Jim had given him something: His old grill, Old Blue. Similarly, Jim didn't appreciate that Andy had given him something: All sorts of things, really, but almost everything worth more than an old grill. Well, Old Blue is back.

When Cheryl, Dana and the girls get ready to head out of town, she hides the matches, the knives, warns the neighbors and blocks the adult channels on the television. She isn't even going to get a sitter because Jim has turned fifty.

Lost Recap: D.O.C

Lost is on the verge of jumping around almost as much as Heroes, but they haven't quite made the jump yet. Usually they focus fairly well, but every once in a while they throw in a curve to set up several story lines, or complete a few (or both). This is one of those episodes that does several things. I'm not quite sure if it works.

First, there is the Girl who isn't Penny, that we first saw in Catch-22. It turns out she's hurt pretty badly (or seems to be), so it's important that they try and help her. On the way to get help, who should turn up but Mikhail. I thought he was dead. Apparently not.

Heroes Recap: Chapter Nineteen: .07%

At Primatech Paper, the cells are full. HRG is in one, communicating telepathically to Parkman in the next. You would think they would have figured out a way to stop this - surely they could use lead or something. That would stop Superman's X-Ray vision, couldn't it stop Parkman? And speaking of X-Ray vision, why doesn't anyone have it? That would be cool.

In another cell, in another part of the building, Radioactive Man Ted waits to be rescued, and sure enough, before long, Parkman comes to get him. On the advice of HRG, Parkman tells Ted to burn bright, not hot. After trying a couple of time, he gets it, which creates an electro-magnetic pulse, and that knocks out the security system. They are free.

My Name is Earl Recap: G.E.D

Earl has a new person on his list: Himself. What's more, he has more than one item. A huge line at the Crab Shack is formed to get free t-shirts along with a credit application, and when Earl has nothing that might qualify him - no job, no diploma, not even a permanent address, he figures that it's time to become an adult. So as Catalina suggests, he becomes item #273.

Then he adds some items under it: Finish high school, get a real job and move out of the motel. First up, to try and graduate. Unfortunately, Earl is very good. So he talks to the teachers, and finds out that he might be better as a substitute teacher, so he tries to get a job first instead. Or at least, that's what it seems like.

Jericho Recap: One If By Land

We come back to New Bern find that Eric and Jake are still in jail. Even the mighty Hawkins has to go through some processes that the rest of us do - he can't just will them out of jail. Not yet, anyway. I suspect he'll be working on that power for next season, if it ever happens.

But what he can is team up with Maggie, the young lass who we met back in Semper Fidelis. It seems that she ended up in New Bern after getting kicked out of Jericho. Or maybe she was just trying to figure out a way to steal her tank back. But regardless, she's there, and trying to get into Jake's good graces, so she helps Hawkins. As if he needs help.

Ghost Whisperer Recap: The Collector

Melinda meets a new resident of Grandview named Gabriel, and it seems that they share a little secret - they can both see ghosts. Naturally, this gives them both some reason for pause, and they are somewhat hesitant to share what they know with each other. Then Amy, the flight attendant from the plane crash shows up and asks Melinda to help her. It seems that there's a dark force in town that's trying to cause trouble. I wonder who that can be?

Close to Home Recap: Drink the Cup

Annabeth finds that a neighbor is murdered. He's also a police officer. Unfortunately, her investigation is slowed from an unexpected source - another officer. More specifically, a set of other officers, all led by Detective Chris Veeder (guest Eric Stoltz). Veeder has a long history of commendations, and his team is generally regarded as nearly untouchable, but that just whets Annabeth's appetite, because she can sense that something isn't quite right.

When the investigation turns up evidence that the dead neighbor was meeting a girl, and that girl was not just something simple like a prostitute. No, this girl may have had her seedy side, but she was more than that. It seems she came out of a non-profit organization that was run by a Samantha Veeder - wife of the detective who Annabeth wants to take down. In fact, it looks like many of the women on the board of the organization just happen to be wives of the men on the team. It just gets more interesting all the time.

The Amazing Race Recap: Fort Soledad, Guam

Oh My God, The Teletubbies Go To War

Leaving Macau, China in first place, beauty queens Dustin and Kandice found that the next leg had them flying more than 7500 miles to the island of Guam, where they would have to drive to Andersen Air Force Base. Because it is an active military installation, an escort had to then drive them to an air traffic control tower, where they could get their next clue. On top of the tower!

At the airport, Dustin and kandice bought tickets on a flight leaving at 9:05am and arriving at 9:50pm, with a connection in Tokyo. Charla and Mirna and Eric and Danielle were able to get on the same flight. So much for the lead. At least the three teams were able to best Oswald and Danny, who arrived frantic to catch the same flight out, but couldn't do so. They had to settle for a 10:15am departure. To the chagrin of the rest of the teams, however, Oswald and Danny were able to make a tight Tokyo connection to make the same 9:50pm arrival and all the teams were together once again.

The Sopranos Recap: Chasing It

The more I watch this show, the more I realize that I really miss what it used to be (and I realize that it really isn't that any longer). It's almost like everyone came back to the HBO cash machine for one more season, and now they're just killing time until they get to the series finale. At least there isn't far to go. I just don't know if I can make it.

Anyway, if you didn't know that Tony had issues, you sure should by now. Only instead of having problems with interesting things like killing people or having sex outside of his marriage (not saying that I encourage those things - just that they are a lot more interesting to watch), he's got a thing with gambling. He goes to Atlantic City and wins on roulette. Instead of walking away with a nice stack, he takes it all and puts it on another number. He loses it. This is what he's reduced to. Ah well.
