American Idol Recap: Top 4

After the Idol Gives Back show Last week, both Chris Richardson and Phil Stacey were sent packing.  Back to normal this week with one contestant voted out (at least, I suspect that is what will happen).  And since two were let go last week, we’re down to four.

Barry Gibb will be joining the show as a mentor this week, and each contestant will be singing two songs.  The songs should come from his catalog (his solo work, from the Bee Gees, or that he has written from another artist).

LaKisha JonesStayin’ Alive & Run to Me

Blake LewisYou Should Be Dancing & This Is Where I Came In

Jordin SparksTo Love Somebody & Woman In Love by Barbra Streisand

Wow.  Top 4, and this was what we get?

Though I really see no way that Blake could possibly win, I dug his performance of You Give Love a Bad Name last week.  But that was last week.  This week?  I really didn’t care much for him.  In fact, I didn’t care much for anyone.  Barry Gibb seemed to like Jordin Sparks, but other than that, I think you could pick contestants by throwing darts at a dartboard and have a chance of getting it right.

But, since I want to put something down, let me say that I think LaKisha is going home.  I just don’t think we have the right venue for her.  In the bottom with her, I’ll pick Blake, because as cool as I think he is, and as talented as he is, I think he’s just way too nutso for this competition.

Update: So it was LaKisha, and the others move onto the Top 3.  See you again next week.
